Hagley Creek Kids
Innovation on the Brandywine

Discover the innovative technological advances the DuPont company made throughout their history! The first Creek Kids event of the summer will focus on the science and technology of DuPont, from gunpowder to nitrocellulose to polymers. Families can try hands-on science experiments, crafts, and activities throughout the afternoon.

All-Day Activities:

Start in the Visitor Center and head up to the third floor for a scavenger hunt about the DuPont Company.

Next, head to the Power Plant to learn about Innovative Packaging, how Duco paint is like nail polish, and how to make your own slime!

Farther along the path you can write a secret message on Teflon tape, eat a jiggly polymer, and learn about the importance of safety.

In the Wheelwright Shop, you can launch your own bottle rocket and make your own pinwheel!

A bit farther along the path you can make and eat a “gunpowder” chocolate truffle and build a push cart.

Or you can explore on your own!
