Abstract
The Sperry Gyroscope Company was formed in 1910 by Elmer Sperry in order to develop and manufacture his marine gyrostabilizer,
gyrocompass, and high-intensity search light. During the two World Wars, Sperry was one of the nation's most important defense
contractors. The records include materials from the advertising, public affairs, and engineering departments.
